The Denzels - Rae Rae
The Denzels still a young group, they’ve been called “a melting pot of all of New York Cities most successful acts.” Their influences range from Brian Wilson and The Cribs, to The Antlers and The Cure. Most of all, they’re influenced by the bands they see each week all over the city. There is a new Brooklyn sound and it’s changing every night. Originally named The Goods, the band began playing around Brooklyn and quickly became known for their energetic live shows. In early 2011 the group changed their name to The Denzels and released the “Slow Death” EP. The songs are a mixture of their surroundings and their upbringing, combining New York style Indie Rock with West Coast beach pop.

Remember; life is a process, no feeling is final.
There is no end and no beginning.
Yours truly always,

Electric Guest - American Daydream
""American Daydream" is a title that brings to mind Tom Petty's realm – you know, something with cornfields, innocent truck hookups or manifest destiny. Electric Guest has their own "American Daydream," though. It carries a near-ominous tone, yet it's still super poppy with sing-song vocals, crisp production and a creeper of a bass line that makes you want to puff-out your chest while walking. The group will release its Danger Mouse-produced debut LP in 2012 via Downtown Records."

The D.A. - Big Woman + Pastels [Mp3's]
Like a dance-rock revelation, El Paso’s The D.A. arrived four years ago and have been making converts ever since. The band, an incomparable chimera of indie rock and synth pop, has won a huge following in their hometown of El Paso and other Southwest cities and now have a new album, “You Kids!,” poised to take them far beyond. The full-length debut, recorded by Justin Leeah (sound engineer for the Yeah Yeah Yeahs’ “It’s Blitz!”), is 10 tracks of impeccably produced pop set apart by its merging of electronic sounds, soaring trumpet and bare bones rock instruments.
They have shared stages with such indie darlings as Yelle, Foster the People, Twin Shadow, Crystal Castles, Mister Heavenly, Holy Fuck, Miniature Tigers, Pomegranates and Prefuse 73. This spring they more than held their own on a bill with MSTRKRFT, CSS and Beach Fossils at El Paso’s first-ever Neon Desert Music Festival. If their live show has cracked open a door for the band, “You Kids!” should bust it wide open.

Phantogram - Don't Move
Nightlife is kind of an extension of the whole process of making and touring behind Eyelid Movies, and it feels in a lot of ways like the completion of what we were doing with the songs on that album,” says Carter, adding that “the two [records] really go together in our minds. Nightlife couldn’t have been written anywhere other than in clubs and hotel rooms during this experience we’ve been having for the last year or two. Phantogram arresting lead single “Don’t Move” was unleashed earlier this week, check it out and check out a tune called “16 Years”, a song the group performed live in the Moog Studios recently after the jump

The Whip - Keep or Delete
For the past eighteen months, the trio that comprise The Whip; Bruce Carter, Nathan Sudders and Fiona Daniel, have been working on ‘Wired Together’ with the last six months spent night and day in the studio of producer Jagz Kooner in London. A move on from the high octane nature of ‘X Marks Destination’, ‘Wired Together’ retains The Whip’s ability to set pulses racing with pounding rhythms and fluid, dancefloor friendly beats but broadens the band’s palate to introduce a more celebratory vibe and a more lyrical version of the band’s dance music.
‘Wired Together’ is available to pre-order from the band’s site at www.thewhipband.com now. Those who pre-order the album will receive five tracks immediately to whet their appetites for the full version on release.
To celebrate the release of their new album, ‘Wired Together’, The Whip, are giving away, ‘Keep Or Delete’, taken off the album for free.

Young Empires - Against The Wall [Video + Mp3]
Young Empires are a Canadian music group that NME Magazine compared to the likes of The Killers, Arcade Fire, Yeasayer, The Rapture, and Foals. Defined by swirling synthesizer tones, soulful bass grooves, and funky guitar rhythms, Young Empires deliver dance tracks full of swagger, sexuality, and a little angst. Their track “Glory of the Night” will be featured on Kitsune’s Maison Compilation 10. In 2010, Young Empires performed at international showcases in London, New York, Bogota, and Toronto, and supported acts such as Jamiroquai, Dragonette, Sleigh Bells, Jamaica, We Have Band, !!! (Chk Chk Chk).

Cass McCombs - The Same Thing
Humor Risk is an attempt at laughter instead of confusion, chaos instead of morality, or, as fellow Northern Californian Jack London said, “I would rather be ashes than dust!”. Musically, it is more rhythm-based, tempos swifter to nearly rocking, than the sparse Wit’s End. Infectious melodies are outlined by a wry lyricism that expresses the stories of characters from McCombs’ native land. Rather than fulfilling the stereotype of the confessional singer-songwriter, he describes the lifestyles and feelings of those that surround him, with more love than judgment: drugs, Scientology, Western America, and so on, in allegorical form
'The Same Thing' is taken from Cass McCombs' second album this year, Humor Risk, out on November 7th (Rest of the world)/November 8th (North America).
