As this is a debut, a little background is in order - having met while playing in various bands across both coasts of Long Island throughout their teenage years, each spied on one another covetously, while Andrea Estella (vocals) and Eric Cardona (guitar, vocals) formed an intense songwriting bond, around which the core of the band’s lyrics and imagery are built.

Millions - Those Girls

Millions, having spent most of 2011 writing and recording, have just got the nod from triple j by winning the Unearthed Splendour In The Grass 2011 competition, opening up the festival on the main stage, alongside sets from Kanye West, The Hives, Jane's Addiction and The Mars Volta.

The Whip - Wired Together [Stream]

The Whip return with a new album, entitled ‘Wired Together’ in September, the follow up to their ‘X Marks Destination’ debut of 2008. Airship release their new single, Kids, through Play It Again Sam on the 13th June 2011. It is taken from their forthcoming debut album, ‘Stuck In This Ocean’ due out in the Autumn.

Kids is Airship’s first single proper and although the band are adamant that the album should be listened to as a whole body of work, there is no denying that the propulsive rhythms and explosive chorus is an exciting, urgent introduction to this young gang.
