VHS or Beta’s first full-length in four years drops tomorrow, so you’d think Cosmic Kids would show some respect in refitting modish club single “Breaking Bones.” Instead, they’ve smeared it with space paste. Here, future-tribal beats, trance room interludes and razor bass whips join the original’s bright keyboard riffs and soporific vocals to epic effect. A dreamy, druggy ride, this one—and fitting—as VHS or Beta’s new LP is titled (what else?) Diamonds & Death.
